Abilities Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists individuals with disabilities in Maryland to achieve their personal goals and reach their maximum potential. Abilities Network’s mission is to challenge the community to acknowledge the value and equality of people of all abilities.
Our services are customized to offer individuals and families choices. We offer extensive training opportunities to families, child care providers, teachers and community members with the goal of fostering inclusion. Our programs support children, adults, families and seniors in services who are affected by a variety of at-risk factors, including a diagnosed disability, lack of environmental supports, low-socioeconomic levels, and limited knowledge about resources and/or the capacity to access them.
Pathfinders
Pathfinders for Autism works to support and improve the lives of individuals affected by autism through expansive, customized programming, and by providing resources, training, information and activities free of charge.

The Pathfinders for Autism Resource Center helps families navigate the often confusing and complex array of services, treatment, and programs available to them. Our staff receives calls from parents who have just received a diagnosis; caregivers of adults with autism in need of support services; individuals with autism who are seeking services for themselves; and professionals working with clients with autism.
The Pathfinders for Autism website is a critical link to the thousands of families and professionals we serve throughout Maryland. The site offers a searchable, online database of more than 2,200 providers along with informative articles and a calendar of autism-specific events.
Child Find
Special Education services provided by Baltimore County Public Schools for children ages three through twenty-one.
Child Find is a special education service provided by the Baltimore County Public School System for identifying children from ages three through twenty-one who are suspected of having an educational disability and who may be eligible for special education and related services.
When results indicate that a child is disabled and in need of special education services, an individualized plan is developed. This will be either an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Individualized Service Plan, depending on the age and residency of the child.
When a young child is referred to Child Find the family is contacted either by a representative from the child’s home elementary school or by a team member from one of the BCPS Child Find Assessment Centers. BCPS has four Child Find Assessment Centers focused on guiding families of young children through the eligibility assessment process.
The Child Find Assessment Center is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of qualified professionals who have extensive knowledge and experience in child development. Team members may include a teacher, a speech language pathologist, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a nurse, or a psychologist. An IEP chairperson facilitates the IEP team meetings. This team works with families through every stage of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process including the initial IEP meeting; testing and the development of an IEP.
Infants and Toddlers
Special Education services provided by Baltimore County Public Schools for children birth to 36 months of age.
Baltimore County’s interagency Infants and Toddlers teams work out of five corresponding geographic sites in Baltimore County to provide services to nearly 2,400 eligible infants and toddlers and their families. Each team is led by a Team Leader and includes a variety of positions including service providers and service coordinators who support children and families.
The Infants and Toddlers Program is a joint venture of the Baltimore County Department of Health, Baltimore County Public Schools, Department of Social Services and other private agencies. The program's mission is to support families of children (from birth through 36 months of age) living in Baltimore County who have, or may have, developmental delays or a condition that puts them at risk of delays.
