Hands on learning!

When learning is hands on, children are engaged with both their hands and their minds! This helps them to be more focused and motivated to learn. Hands on learning helps children of ALL ages retain knowledge and grow.

“Our son attended LCA for two years and we cannot sing their praises enough! Having access to amazing therapists and an incredible teacher with a small class size was exactly what our son needed to begin his learning journey. Mrs. Kristen met our son where he was emotionally and academically- helping him feel comfortable at first then growing his confidence each week. Kristen sent home countless resources and was always available to troubleshoot problems experienced outside of the classroom. Our son was excited each day to go to school, and the learning that occurred was phenomenal. However, the greatest success for us as parents was watching our son make friends. Kristen and her team don’t just focus on academic learning, connections to the other students in the class are just as important. To feel loved and wanted in a classroom and with your peers- we could not have asked for more! We are so sad our time at LCA has ended but will be forever thankful for the amazing opportunities they gave our son.”

LCA is more than a school to us, they are an extension of our family. They welcomed my son, as a student, myself and my daughter with open arms 3 years ago. They learned about our interests and truly cared about each one of us. It never felt like the teachers and staff were "just punching the clock". Everyone showed understanding, empathy, and compassion. During COVID they quickly adapted and found ways to continue therapy and class time virtually which helped my son stick to a routine. My son has made so many improvements and is confident to begin his journey into Kindergarten. Kristen is an angel and has been there for me when I didn't know which way to turn. We couldn't have done it without their help. I will miss them and feel like we are leaving a piece of our hearts behind.

“We LOVE LCA!! Both of my boys go and adore everyone so much! Both of them have come so far with the help of the amazing teachers/therapist. Highly recommend!”

If I could give LCA 10 stars I would!!!  My 3-year-old son has been going to LCA for a little over a year now and we absolutely love it! The amazing staff really engage each student and help develop their skills in a very individualized way.  All of the teachers are incredible and the small class sizes allow for each students needs to be addressed.  The LCA curriculum exposes children to different aspects of learning through sensory and play. I can see my son’s growth and progress every day! LCA is the FIRST school my son has attended that he has been happy and excited to go to.  Thank you, Mrs. Gordon, and the LCA staff.  We can’t say we love you enough!!

“Both my sons 2 1/2 & 4 years old have been going to LCA, both for preschool a few days a week. And some speech and occupations therapy. We notice considerable differences... the people who work there are awesome. The boys are coming home with lots of the projects they have done in school we get pictures of their in-class fun. Highly recommend for an intro into preschool.”

“First thing that comes to mind when I think of LCA is the amazing staff with so much heart and caring mindset. It’s a wonderful feeling seeing Lily &Rowan get excited about going to preschool. The teachers really make an effort to engage with the kids and develop them in a very individualized way. Kristen is really committed to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment and I’m so thankful to her and the whole team for doing so. They truly will be miss them when my kids age out.”

“My three year old son, Emmett, started at LCA in December 2020. My son has a severe speech disorder so at first I was hesitant enrolling him in a program where he cannot advocate for himself. However, when speaking to the staff at the Learning & Therapy Corner, I realized how experienced and dedicated they were to the improvement and success of their students, and I knew I was making the right choice. Prior to starting at LCA, my son lacked the confidence to communicate verbally with his peers and other adults due to his speech delay. After a few weeks at LCA, Emmett's confidence and excitement to talk grew tremendously. Every day he was excited about going to school and even more excited to tell me about his day. He went from being a kid who was quiet and unwilling to try new sounds to a kid who now has hundreds of words and approximations and is never afraid to speak his mind, even if he cannot always be understood. The staff at LCA are proactive, communicative, empathetic, and creative in engaging their young students and my family is fortunate that our son will be a returning student at LCA in the fall.”
