Adventure Awaits!
Adventure awaited our Little Corner Academy kiddos as we traveled from state to state during our second summer session. Our “flights” however, did hit some turbulence due to bad weather during our first week which caused a delay in our plans, but we did successfully visit all 10 states that we had on our itineraries!
As we visited the states of Maryland, Idaho, Hawaii, California, Texas, Louisiana, New York, Florida, Georgia, and New Mexico, the children learned about state flowers, traditions, and best of all their FOOD! Each child had the opportunity to taste a food that the states were known for.
We had SO much fun as we welcomed new friends to our second camp session! We worked on social skills such as sharing, turn taking, and working together to complete activities!
We worked on our fine motor skills as we decorated and packed our suitcases to store our crafts throughout our travels. Occupational therapy focused on fine and gross motor skills with obstacle courses, motor room and sensory exploration, and state themed crafts.
Our speech sessions consisted of role-playing activities, listening to-and following directions, identifying pictures to expand our vocabulary, and making requests.
It is hard to choose just a few pictures to share all of the fun that we had during our second camp! Thirty pictures just isn’t enough!
