It was a MAGICAL time at LCA!
Our second session of LCA Summer Camp was DISNEY themed! To say that the kids (and teachers and therapists) had fun is an understatement! During Disney Camp the children had the chance to share their favorite Disney book, stuffed animal, wear their favorite Disney shirt, and dress like their favorite character! We also had water days and special snacks! We had “Stem Days” where the kids created their own racetrack when we learned about the “Cars,” movie! The kids created their own Forky during “Toy Story” day, made their own monsters for “Monsters Inc.,” and found Mickey characters in ice as we explored “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!” During prince and princess day the kids created their own crowns to wear, plus created suits/gowns for their own prince and princess with playdough and gems! During “Finding Nemo and Finding Dory” the kids filled in fish shapes with Goldfish crackers to create their own Dory or Nemo! Other fun activities included graphing car colors, Disney themed puzzles, pin the arrow on the target from “Brave,” and creating our own spaceship for Buzz Lightyear! Each Disney movie that our kids explored brought a new letter of the alphabet and sound for us to focus on during our whole group speech sessions and our individualized instruction time! We loved having our occupational therapists joining us on our Disney Movie journey by creating gross motor activities for the children to enjoy in our motor room!
